Iranian Navy to Launch Missile Drill Tomorrow – Defense news
The drill’s spokesman, 2nd Flotilla Admiral Abbas Hassani, said the operational phase of the Navy’s Sustainable Power 1404 missile exercise will be held for 2 days in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman with the participation of surface and subsurface units, flight units, shore-to-sea missile sites, sea-based missile sites, and electronic warfare units.
In this exercise, based on the experiences gained in previous years and the announced instructions, missile launches, electronic warfare exercises, and drone exercises will be carried out, he noted.
Regarding the missiles used in this exercise, he said a wide range of pinpoint cruise missiles with short, long, and medium ranges will be used to hit and destroy surface floating targets.
He referred to enhancing combat capability, creating hope in the hearts of the noble Iranian nation, enhancing the ability to plan, direct, and control the operational scene, and creating deterrence by relying on the capabilities of domestic experts as the objectives of this exercise.
Iran’s Armed Forces hold routine military exercises throughout the year.
Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiations.
