Iran, Saudi Arabia Discuss Urgent Support for Palestinians – Politics news

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan discussed recent regional and international developments during a phone conversation on Friday.

Araqchi condemned the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza caused by Israel’s ongoing brutalities, including severe shortages of food and medicine due to the ongoing blockade.

He stressed the urgent need to mobilize all available mechanisms, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international frameworks, to break the siege of Gaza, deliver essential supplies, and stop the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Araqchi also denounced the Israeli Knesset’s latest move to formalize control over the West Bank, as further evidence of the regime’s expansionist policies and disregard for international law.

“This act, coupled with the genocide in Gaza and the continued gross violations of human rights in the West Bank, exposes the Zionist regime’s sinister goal of erasing Palestine as a land, a people, and a national identity,” Araqchi said.

He emphasized that the firm stance of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and most countries around the world in condemning this move is highly significant and meaningful.

Both sides agreed on the necessity of immediate, practical steps to aid Gaza and halt Israeli crimes against Palestinians.

They discussed the use of regional and international platforms, including Islamic and Arab joint mechanisms, to achieve this goal.

The Saudi minister reiterated his country’s readiness to support such efforts.

Araqchi also briefed his counterpart on the latest status of Iran’s talks with three European countries.
