In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday, Pezeshkian said Iran is by no means worried about inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency, because it is committed to the international regulations and is confident about the transparency and peacefulness of its nuclear activities.

“However, I emphasize that the imposition of force and pressure or depriving our nation of its legitimate rights is by no means acceptable,” he underlined.

Pointing to the regional developments in the wake of a ceasefire following 12 days of Israeli and American war of aggression against Iran as well as the European efforts to encourage Iran to resume negotiations, the president said, “Iran, according to its principled policies, has always supported any measure strengthening peace and security.”

Iran has never sought wars or insecurity, but has always played an influential role in stabilizing regional peace and stability, Pezeshkian added, lashing out at the Israeli regime and the US for bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities in violation of all international norms amid the nuclear negotiations.

He further decried the IAEA’s inaction and its failure to condemn the military strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Although Iran’s activities have been monitored and inspected by the UN nuclear agency and Tehran has repeatedly proved the peacefulness of its nuclear program, the false claim and fake information coupled with media propaganda have become the basis of judgment on its nuclear program, Pezeshkian deplored.

The president further lauded the friendly and constructive relations between Iran and Armenia, adding, “Our policy entails constructive interaction with all neighboring states with protection of the territorial integrity of all countries, as we emphasize stronger interaction, mutual cooperation and planning for the future of bilateral ties.”

For his part, Pashinyan expressed his condolences to Iran over the loss of citizens in the Israeli strikes and condemned the acts of aggression against Iran.

He also voiced Yerevan’s willingness to broaden ties with Tehran, saying his country is impatient to host the Iranian president for talks on the expansion of bilateral relations.
